Competitive edge depends on the qualitative edge of the people at the top of your organisation. Companies need their top people to build intellectual capital and develop thought leadership. The dilemma familiar to many companies is that because their time-pressured top people are too busy to read business books, they are not developing their qualitative edge, and they are not being exposed to fresh business thinking.
The solution: bookbuzz™ - a facilitated learning environment specifically created to meet the needs of time-poor executives
- You choose groups of 10-12 participants from among your senior executives (CEOs, directors, senior/middle managers, individuals with management/leadership potential) and you stipulate what particular themes/topics/issues you want them to explore.
- We suggest a list of books for each programme to suit your needs.
- Once you approve this list, all participants in a particular programme read the same short section (about 50 pages) from a designated business book.
- Participants then meet for a 2-hour on-site discussion session led by an experienced corporate facilitator.
Choose from a wide range of flexible, customizable programmes:
- You might choose a leadership theme based on non-business role models, such as Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York, or Ernest Shackleton, the Arctic explorer.
- You might choose a theme based on more mainstream business gurus like Jack Welch (Winning) or Jim Collins (From Good to Great.)
- And you might choose more off-beat titles that are not strictly business books - like Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink or Yanky Fachler’s Chutzpah.
Does bookbuzz™ fit your executive development profile?
- If you’re scared that your top people might become too imaginative, too innovative, and might question too many assumptions…
- If you’re anxious that your top people might start focusing on processes and not just on results, on the journey and not just on the destination…
…. Then the answer is probably NO.
- If you believe that your senior executives should be keeping abreast of the latest business books…
- If you can define the issues that you want your executives to explore…
- If you can define the change that you want to achieve….
…. Then the answer is definitely YES - bookbuzz™ can create the appropriate learning programmes that will make this happen.
“The program is not only nurturing innovative thinking and best practice leadership skills in our management team, it is also enhancing the engagement of our workforce, and helping us to attract and retain great people.”
